How To Buy A Used Car?

This blog usually talks about my after dinner comedy show which is currently gearing up for a huge company holiday party season.
Today however, I want to make a quick diversion to a new project that I was proud to be involved with.
My friend Ken Groves is not only the guy who taught me to be a ventriloquist, but also a master in the automobile industry. He has his own custom car garage and when not on-stage, he is playing with cars. In fact, I think he enjoys his time in the garage more than his time on stage.
Earlier this year, Ken and I were talking about how many people constantly came to him asking him to inspect a used car they were thinking about buying. It really interrupted his work flow. He knew of my How To Be A Ventriloquist course and asked if I thought a Learn How To Buy A Used Car Course may be worth looking into.
Lots of people buy used cars to save money. Unfortunately most don't know what to look for and many end up with huge repair bills right when the warranty expires. I told Ken I'd love to help him. Using his knowledge of cars and my knowledge of computer membership sites, we created: the-auto-doctor.com.
If you are thinking of buying a used car - check it out. Ken is offering four free lessons with some valuable information. The entire course is only $59 - and honestly, that is a lot less than what it would cost to replace a tie rod, wheel bearing or pulley.
My last used car needed a $600 repair that wasn't covered by warranty. If I had known then what I know now - that would have been negotiated into the price of the car.
I highly recommend this course - and there is a 60 Day money back guarantee if you aren't completely satisfied. Check it out!

Corporate Comedian - More Than A Title

Corporate Comedian - More Than A Title

As a corporate comedian, I get to travel to some incredible locations to entertain people who would rather be somewhere else. Really? Yep! In most cases, the dinner has been served, the event is over and people are thinking about an early morning flight or the nightclub across town. The last thing they want to do is sit through a corporate comedian's act.

So Why Do People Hire A Corporate Comedian?

In most cases, the company wants to end the event with something fun. They want to provide their guests with a stress-free, fun filled ending that caps off all of their planning. The corporate comedian has to walk a fine line, presenting a program that represents the company, and at the same time, gets everyone laughing.

This takes careful planning on the part of the comedian, the event planners, the venue staff and the presenters. If something goes wrong, the entire evening could come crashing down. I wrote a brief article about a night that went wrong here.

So How Can A Corporate Comedian Keep The Audience?

An experienced corporate comedian knows how to integrate the client's message and people into the presentation. It is no longer a regular stand up comedy act, it becomes a show about them. The program ends up being a shared experience about their experience.

A seasoned corporate comedian walks on-stage and instantly engages the audience so they realize the show is much more than a comedy club act. As the time on-stage unfolds, the evening flies by and the client's event becomes the center piece that everyone will remember and talk about.

Hire A Comedian

Everybody loves to laugh, so hire a comedian for your next corporate event, company party, banquet, conference, or holiday party. When you hire a comedian, you’ll generate plenty of laughs and make certain to have an event people remember. Unfortunately, it can be tricky to hire a comedian that is right for your audience and event.

Nightclub comedians are often kitschy, comedy club comedians tend to use language that isn’t appropriate for all audiences. The comedians you see on the Tonight Show, David Letterman, Comedy Central, HBO, VH1, Showtime and in Stand up comedy specials often have set material. Because they are known, they are sometimes hesitant to tailor it to your crowd.

So if you want to hire a comedian for your company’s event, where should you look? A corporate comedian with references from companies that hosted corporate events similar to yours is a good place to start. Tom Crowl has entertained at hundreds of corporate events from coast to coast. He works with event planners and companies to create customized programs that involve their audience and message.

Next time you want to hire a comedian, contact our office for a free corporate event consultation.

Corporate Dinner Entertainment

As a professional entertainer, most of my corporate work involves banquet entertainment. Clients hire me to create customized programs that involve and interact with their guests. They plan an incredible meal, hold it in a fancy hotel or conference center and want to end the evening on a high note.

One night, my audience may consist of 80 V.I.P. executives dining on fine wine and thick steaks with black tie service. I am considered the dinner party entertainment and need to get everyone in a great mood. The next evening, I may be working for 500 plant workers having a buffet style meal and need a good laugh.

These variations in audiences make my job fun. What makes one audience laugh hysterically, may only produce a small response from the other. With almost 30 years in the entertainment business, clients and event planners have come to rely on my ability to make the evening right.

Another of my favorite type after dinner entertainment shows is for awards dinners. I usually advise clients to put on the entertainment before awards are presented. There are multiple reasons that help them get more value from their budget. Plus it sets a great tone that makes the rest of the evening more fun.

Other times, I get to act as emcee, providing short comedy bits between presenters and speeches. These quick bits require more writing to customize the material, and also require flexibility to keep the client’s event moving.

Many companies have started having holiday parties again. These can be anything from in office events to full blown black tie occasions. While my holiday season starts to schedule early, if you are looking for corporate holiday party entertainment let me know.

Contact my office for a free corporate event entertainment consultation. There is no pressure. I’d be more than happy to help you find the act that will make your evening a success.

Chicago Corporate Entertainment Events

I was recently in the Chicago area for a few days and had a chance to look around. As a corporate entertainer, I often find myself flying in and out of an area without really getting a chance to experience the location. When I performed in Texas recently, as soon as the plane landed I had a three hour drive. Getting to the hotel late, I rested, got up the next morning and did a show before driving three hours to catch a plane to my next destination. Not exactly the exciting life most people imagine when they hear I entertain for corporate events across the United States. Back to Chicago! The city has an incredible energy. I sampled a few of the establishments that were highly recommended. In all, a great time. The industry around Chicago seems to be doing well. At least, from the perspective I saw. I've got a few more visits on my schedule and look forward to providing corporate entertainment for Chicago clients later this fall.

Learn How To Be A Ventriloquist

When I was a kid, Edgar Bergen, Paul Winchell, Jimmy Nelson, Senor Wences and Shari Lewis kept the art of ventriloquism in the public's eye. The Sear's catalog sold ventriloquist dummmys and plenty of kids recall wanting to perform ventriloquism like the celebrities!

For more than two decades, ventriloquism faded. Despite the efforts of Jay Johnson and Ronn Lucas, it wasn't considered hip and the number of ventriloquists took a nose dive. Many considered it a dying art.

Then came Terry Fator. When he won America's Got Talent, suddenly ventriloquism was in fashion. During the same time period, Jeff Dunham was producing his second television special. Between Youtube views and Comedy Central, Jeff went from performing in theatres to headlining sold out shows at arenas.

Then Jay Johnson won a Tony Award, proving that ventriloquism isn't just comedy, but a legitimate stage art.

Ventriloquism was popular again! And as a result, kids and adults want to perform ventriloquism and be like the celebrities. As ventriloquism evolved, the methods of teaching it hadn't. There were books and videos, but each had drawbacks that left students wondering if they were doing the techniques correctly.

That is why I created the new time released, online ventriloquism course at Learn-Ventriloquism.com.

The best part - the first five lessons are free. If you like it, you can sign up - and you will learn to perform ventriloquism the right way. Guaranteed.

After Dinner Entertainment in Texas

I absolutely love the state of Texas. Everytime I go, I look forward to returning. Luckily, I'll be there again soon for an event in Alpine.

The first time I went to Dallas, the lightening storms blew me away. I thought the post card was photoshopped until I saw the storm. It was amazing. Naturally I had to check out the tourist stops and I'm pretty sure there was someone behind the fence. Although I doubt he was there in 1963. (Didn't look old enough...)

After dinner entertainment is one of my specialties and there are a lot of corporate and association events happening in Dallas. So if anyone there wants to hire a comedian, let me know! I'd love to join you and make your guests laugh!

Hire A Comedian

As you plan entertainment for your corporate event, there are so many options to chose from. Musical tastes vary widely and not everyone wants to dance. Magicians and jugglers are everywhere and many repeat the same tricks. Perhaps the greatest variety of styles is in the world of the comedian.

Stand up comics working clubs often have free range of material and can cover taboo subjects with foul language to illicit a laugh. While perfectly acceptable in a comedy club setting, that same act in a corporate event can leave executives and guests feeling uncomfortable. Although they can clean up their act, there is always concern they could slip.

Corporate comedians are familiar with the needs of the corporate client. They work with you to tailor their program to your event and audience. When the focus is on making your company and people look great, your event becomes a success.

Before you hire a comedian, make certain to check out Tips For Hiring A Comedian on the official comedy ventriloquist blog!

Tonight In Baltimore!

Tonight I get to entertain 75 guests at a corporate function in the brand new Four Seasons Baltimore in Maryland! Its an incredible venue. I am really looking forward to working with this group and the hotel event staff. They've been great in advance and I know its going to be a wonderful experience.

Baltimore corporate functions have plenty of choices when it comes to venues. The Four Seasons Baltimore offers very high end elegance along with breath-taking views of the Baltimore Harbor.

For me, its another night where I get to have fun, make people laugh and sleep in my own bed after the show. Plus I get to pay my bills! I love this job.

In 2012, I'd love to offer more corporate entertainment in Baltimore, Maryland and the surrounding states. While flying to exotic locations is fun, its really nice when I can stay home once and awhile!

Ocean City Corporate Entertainment

I've always loved working corporate and association events in Ocean City, Maryland. There are some great venues with incredible staffs. Ocean City hosts a lot of corporate functions at their convention center and the many hotels up and down the strip. Since the competition is tough, the event staffs go the extra mile to make certain everything is right. That makes my life as an event entertainer much easier, and I can concentrate on making audiences laugh.

With all the nightlife and excitement the ocean has to offer, keeping event guests around can be tricky. That is why it helps to offer personal programs that talk about the group and single out certain individuals. No one wants to miss the fun when it is about them!

If you are planning a corporate event in Ocean City, give me a call. Let's see if I'm a fit for your vision!

Corporate Entertainment in Rockville, Maryland

As I climb on a plane to fly around the country for a corporate event, I always wish I could stay closer to home! While the audiences make the travel worth while, on occasion, I get lucky enough to perform in Maryland.

Rockville Maryland has a variety of corporate event sites that offer planners style choices to enhance their functions. Some are formal, others offer groups the chance to kick back and have some fun.

As a corporate comedian, I love both styles of events. Getting inside the minds of guests and allowing my puppets to say the things no one else can. Its a great way to release the stress and talk about the gorilla in the room.

No matter where in Maryland you may plan a corporate event, contact me for corporate event ideas! If I'm not right for your function, I am happy to recommend someone that may be.

Company Event Planning

Planning a company event is tough work. People have attended plenty of corporate events that don't even begin to register on the memory scale. The paradigm of boring speeches and entertainment that doesn't hold interest needs to be shattered.

The easiest way to involve people is to create an event that celebrates them! Everyone wants to feel special. As a corporate event entertainer, I find making the program about the audience raises the level of the room. Its hard not to be involved when the show is about you!

If you are looking for company party entertainment, give me a call. I offer a free consultation to determine the fit. If I'm not right for your event, I'm happy to suggest entertainment that will help your company event be a success!

Conference Entertainment

Recently I had the chance to work with a conference planner. They had a very full schedule with heavy topics and were concerned about their attendees. Information overload was a real possibility. The problem was how to keep their people engaged, energized and open to the speakers.

Conference entertainment can be utilized to lift people out of a catonic state and offer the mind a simple diversion that helps it recharge. Comedy not only reduces the stress of the day, but leaves attendees with wonderful memories of the conference.

By offering short sets throughout the day, attendees were constantly being surprised with short breaks. They soon found the mood lightened immediately upon the appearance of a puppet. The segments also allowed a comical recap of the information they had just heard. In the follow up surveys, many said that helped reinforce the workshops.

If you want to make your conference stand out - contact me to discuss your conference entertainment! If my act isn't a fit for your needs, I am happy to direct you to a professional conference entertainer that would be!

Comedy Entertainers

Comedy corporate entertainers help take events to new heights. Laughter reduces stress and builds community. A shared experience bonds people tightly when comedy is involved.

For that reason, comedy entertainers are staples of corporate events world wide. A good corporate comedian can take the client's message, product or vision and turn it into a clean routine that engages and creates memories.

That is a huge part of what I do. Making people laugh is an incredible job to have. Helping clients create positive impressions with their people and clients makes this profession even sweeter!

Wishing you success with your corporate event!

Event Entertainers

People searching for event entertainers will have a wide variety of talents to choose from. You'll find bands, solo artists, magicians, clowns, balloon artists, fire dancers, and maybe even a ventriloquist. There are so many types of entertainers out there - yet that doesn't mean they are right for your event.

As an example, I specialize in corporate events, so I am technically a corporate event entertainer. While I may perform in various types of venues, I am extremely selective about where I will work. For me, it isn't about landing the show, it is about making certain you have a successful event.

If you are searching for event entertainers, feel free to contact me for an event consultation. If we're not a good fit, I have worked with plenty of professional entertainers and I'd be more than happy to make recommendations!

Baltimore Corporate Entertainment

As a Baltimore based corporate entertainer, I often find myself flying off to other parts of the country. I've provided corporate event entertainment in California, Utah, Texas, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Iowa, Illinois, Ohio, New York, Florida - the list could go on. As the frequent flyer miles rack up, I find dealing with the TSA and long flights, while familiar and easier, aren't fun. (I guess it balances the laughs from the show!)

Recently I have started focusing on my home markets. Baltimore has plenty of corporate events that could use entertainment. Baltimore clients get the advantage of a national act and save substantially because there are no airfare or hotel fees added to the expense. I'm looking forward to establishing some great relationships in the Baltimore Corporate Entertainment market. It will be a win-win for everyone involved!
