Hire A Comedian

Everybody loves to laugh, so hire a comedian for your next corporate event, company party, banquet, conference, or holiday party. When you hire a comedian, you’ll generate plenty of laughs and make certain to have an event people remember. Unfortunately, it can be tricky to hire a comedian that is right for your audience and event.

Nightclub comedians are often kitschy, comedy club comedians tend to use language that isn’t appropriate for all audiences. The comedians you see on the Tonight Show, David Letterman, Comedy Central, HBO, VH1, Showtime and in Stand up comedy specials often have set material. Because they are known, they are sometimes hesitant to tailor it to your crowd.

So if you want to hire a comedian for your company’s event, where should you look? A corporate comedian with references from companies that hosted corporate events similar to yours is a good place to start. Tom Crowl has entertained at hundreds of corporate events from coast to coast. He works with event planners and companies to create customized programs that involve their audience and message.

Corporate Dinner Entertainment

As a professional entertainer, most of my corporate work involves banquet entertainment. Clients hire me to create customized programs that involve and interact with their guests. They plan an incredible meal, hold it in a fancy hotel or conference center and want to end the evening on a high note.

One night, my audience may consist of 80 V.I.P. executives dining on fine wine and thick steaks with black tie service. I am considered the dinner party entertainment and need to get everyone in a great mood. The next evening, I may be working for 500 plant workers having a buffet style meal and need a good laugh.

These variations in audiences make my job fun. What makes one audience laugh hysterically, may only produce a small response from the other. With almost 30 years in the entertainment business, clients and event planners have come to rely on my ability to make the evening right.

Another of my favorite type after dinner entertainment shows is for awards dinners. I usually advise clients to put on the entertainment before awards are presented. There are multiple reasons that help them get more value from their budget. Plus it sets a great tone that makes the rest of the evening more fun.

Other times, I get to act as emcee, providing short comedy bits between presenters and speeches. These quick bits require more writing to customize the material, and also require flexibility to keep the client’s event moving.

Many companies have started having holiday parties again. These can be anything from in office events to full blown black tie occasions. While my holiday season starts to schedule early, if you are looking for corporate holiday party entertainment let me know.
